Knowledge of Family History can be Important- According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (http://www.cdc.gov/Features/FamilyHistory/), knowledge of family history can be important for determining a child’s health risks.  It can help make a diagnosis, if a child presents with symptoms, or suggest strategies families can employ to minimize or postpone the onset of certain diseases.

Promotion of Family Health History Awareness in the NYMAC region.

This project aims to expand on existing efforts in the NYMAC region to bring the discussion of family health history to families and their health practitioners in the communities in which they live and work.
